Fridge left open (1 or 2 inches) for 6 hours, what temperature would the fridge be at, is it safe for meat?

The items inside still feel cool, but i have no thermometer to tell the temperature. There was fresh chicken (cool) placed inside there at the start of the 6 hour period. The chicken still feels cool but not as cold as the fridge usually is. How do I tell the temperature, how do i tell what temperature something is by touch?

You can’t tell by touch. The health department recommends not consuming meat that was higher than 41 F for more than four hours. You can’t take the temperature of the meat because you don’t have a digital meat thermometer.

I would say just throw it out to be safe.

You’re food is just fine, don’t sweat it!
Just for a few inches for a few hours and got a little cooler, not room temp or warm. Right?
I find rotten food will tell you with one great test – the sniff test!
Or you can go nuts and just throw out everything!.
