J. Mansell May 3, 2010 at 8:36 pm: this is a very basic oven thermometer, but also very inexpensive. You can hang it from a shelf or have it free standing. A clip on would be useful. The device works and seems reliable and is helpful in checking a maintained temperature in your oven.

Four Violets May 3, 2010 at 9:19 pm: I burnt the cakes. You’re no good at baking said He. It’s the oven said I. Perhaps the thermostat is broken suggested I. So in pops this thermometer and the temperature gauge goes up – and up – and up. Now He is not eating cakes but his words, while I get the thermostat fixed. Extremely useful gadget.

Mr. Frederick P. Reader May 3, 2010 at 9:54 pm: Arrived promptly and was useful to chech suspected oven thermostat failure. It falls over very easily. Appears to read low. Wil probably never use again. Not available locally so it was very useful at the time.

Only one thought….. was it accurate?. ie, had it been calibrated?

As it agreed with my oven temperature indication it is a case of one wrong

then both wrong!

big al May 4, 2010 at 2:17 am: Does what it is designed for. I have had doubts about cooker temperatures for a while now and this showed an error of 15-20C on cooker readout. Excellent delivery, arrived within 2 days and this with free delivery
